Fishing With a Purpose

In just a month, our club members, family and friends will be on their way to Guayabitos, Nayarit, Mexico to participate in the First Annual Fun Fishing Tourney, sponsored by our sister Rotary Club in Compostela.

Here's the itinerary:

October 7: Fy from LA to Puerta Vallarta, followed by a welcome reception. Dinner will be at Restaurant Pineda, courtesy of our host Rotarians.
October 8: Continental breakfast before departing at 7:30 for in a super-panga to fish dorado, tuna, wahoo, sailfish and marlin. (Box lunch will be provided). Afternoon is at your leisure. Dinner is on your own at the beach or at one of the many restaurants in town.
October 9: Same schedule.
October 10: Tour of Compostela with local Rotarians to see many of the community benefit projects which our two clubs have accomplished in partnership over the past 25 years. The awards dinner in the evening with feature fun prizes for the largest fish, the smallest fish (not bait), ugliest fish, etc.
October 11: Morning visit to La Cruz de Huanacaxtle Craft Market followed by a flight back to Los Angeles

Money raised from the tournament will be used to fund our next joint project will provide medical equipment for the public health clinic. This truly is fishing with a purpose!
